The Dolphin Reverse Sensing SONAR STEP system silently scans for and warns you of objects behind your vehicle when you are backing up. The Sonar Step quickly plugs into any standard 2" or 1-1/4" trailer hitch receiver and connects to the vehicle's 7-way power connector. (Comes with a quick connect wiring harness for installation on vehicles that do not have a 7-way power connector already installed.)

This unit IS NOT a backup alarm that signals people behind your vehicle. It is silent to those outside the vehicle and emits an audible beep to you inside the vehicle when something or someone is behind your vehicle when it is on and in reverse.

Simply plug the Sonar Step unit into your vehicle's trailer hitch receiver and secure with the locking pin (supplied).

- Plug the power cord into your vehicle's 7-way trailer power connector (Quick connect harness included for wiring to vehicles without a 7-way connector).

- Plug the compact alarm unit into the vehicle's 12v power outlet (cigarette lighter).

Its just that easy! When you put your vehicle in reverse, the Sonar Step unit silently scans the area behind your vehicle for any objects. (Objects that often times, you can't see!) Any object that is within approx 7 feet will cause the alarm unit (SEE PICTURE ABOVE) to repeatedly beep. As you get closer to the object, the beeping will increase in speed. When you get within about 3 feet, the alarm will send out a steady tone.
